Differential Ray Tracing in RayJack ONE®
RayJack ONE® has been developed based on a strict roadmap with clearly defined milestones and work packages dedicated to specific software features. One key feature is differential ray tracing.
In differential ray tracing, rays propagating through the optical system contain information about their derivatives with respect to their start parameters. This information can be used to compute radiometric quantities very accurately and without noise. The picture below shows the ghost light distribution in the image plane of a double Gauss lens for oblique incidence (left: differential ray tracing, right: conventional ray tracing). Both simulations consumed approximately the same computation time.
Stay curious and don’t miss our upcoming posts which will give you a preview of RayJack ONE® 3.0.
