RayJack ONE® for Space Optics – Importing Nastran Files

Another feature specifically developed for space optics is the import of #Nastran files.

Nastran is an industry standard #FEM tool to simulate deformations induced by thermo-mechanical stress.

RayJack ONE® can read Nastran output files and approximate the data by smooth surfaces. Depending on the symmetry, this approximation can be based on standard or Zernike polynomials and may also include built-in or user-defined reference functions.

The image shows the geometric spot diagrams in the nominal focus of an unperturbed parabolic mirror (top) and the same parabolic mirror under a thermal load (bottom). Note the different scales. Both surfaces have been approximated from data imported from Nastran files.
