RayJackONE - Monitoring Transient Rays

In RayJack ONE® you can analyze ray propagation at different levels of detail. A very convenient way to extract information about the intermediate state of rays is to use transient detectors which register rays passing through or reflecting from different objects. A few examples for the usage of transient detectors are:
· Compute irradiance of transient rays to assess laser-induced damage.
· Determine beam footprint and envelope.
· Store “frozen” copies of the rays on the detector. In subsequent simulations these rays can be used to determine directions for importance sampling.
The figure below exemplifies transient detectors in the case of a simple Cooke triplet.
