RayJackONE - Stray light analysis

Visible sun light illuminates a #space optical instrument from outside the exclusion angle of the baffle. Rays scatter from the edges of the baffle vanes and then a second time from particulate contamination on the front lens. The latter is modeled by Mie theory, assuming a size distribution according MIL-STD-1246C. The ray paths and the irradiance distribution on the image plane are shown below (simulation done using 200 million initial rays).
