RayJackONE - Analysis of an anamorphic lens

The optical design of an anamorphic lens made by Glaswerk Optics (https://lnkd.in/e8r6N-k) was developed and optimized in Code-V®, transferred to Zemax® and eventually imported into #RayJackONE for analysis. Double-reflections of light between cylindrical lenses constitute horizontal flares in the image and give it an aesthetic and lively look.

Ghost analysis in #RayJackONE helps identify surface pairs that cause particularly nice-looking flares. By selecting appropriate coatings, these flares may be enhanced and given a bluish tint, while the nominal image stays unaffected.

Another desired feature of anamorphic lenses is the elliptical #bokeh – the shape of the blur of a point source which is out of focus.
